Health Benefits of Copper

I love copper! Copper is a soft metal with high conductivity. It is used widely because of its thermal and electrical charge. Copper is said to conduct energy, clear out negativity, and to help balance the chakras.

I find that the warm tone of copper looks beautiful on everyone. While it is associated with all things industry – from electrical wires to pennies in your pocket, copper actually comes with a wide spectrum of healing properties. One of the most fascinating things about copper is the fact that it is the third most common trace mineral within our bodies, making us deeply connected to this beautiful metal.

Copper has a long history in the world at large, with a lineage to as far back as 77 AD under the Greek name cyprium, a reference to the land in which the malleable metal was mostly mined. It was later known as Cuprum and then finally to the name we know – Copper. From folklore to finance, Copper has had quite the journey. In ancient times it was connected to the Goddess of Love (Aphrodite) and Venus. Shiny polished copper was used as mirrors. Heavy lumps of Copper were used as currency in Rome and the Egyptians would use Copper to purify water and keep wounds clean as it is anti-microbial, which is why it was used in many medical counter tops.

Copper was smelted in India to create surgical tools. It is an amazing amplifier and conductor of energy. This warming mineral is perfect for helping you release excess charge and conduct positive vibrations. Many people believe it can help protect from electromagnetic frequency from all the WIFI around us.  Copper can be found in many gemstones from Malachite to Turquoise and Chrysocolla.
Being a powerful conductor of energy, wearing Copper comes with a wide array of bountiful benefits for the body, mind, and soul. With a wide array of vibrational frequencies, Copper is believed to provide harmonic connections between the physical and spiritual realms. It is able to magnify energy transfers meaning that the wearer can soak up every ounce of healing when the metal is paired with healing minerals or crystals. It is said to balance out the chakras and keep circulation in flow as it has an affect on the energy meridians of the body. I had a conversation with a professor at the University of Guelph, Ontario where he said he believes it has an oxidative effect that prevents free radicals causing an anti-aging property. You can absorb copper when worn and this has benefits for your immune system as copper also contains trace amounts of zinc and iron, both minerals that are essential to your health. Minerals absorbed through the skin combine with salts from your body and are more efficiently used than taken through digestion

Most people wear copper to relieve symptoms of arthritis, joint pain and stiffness. I once had a client come to me in Sudbury, Ontario where I used to do a show twice a year. She showed me her crooked finger on one hand and said, "see how crooked this finger is, well this one used to be just as crooked", as she showed me her straight finger on the other hand, "but I have been wearing one of your copper rings for six months, so I am buying one for the other side". I was delighted! I have had literally thousands in my almost four decades of working with copper give their testimony on how copper helps them, so given its one of the least expensive metals it is worth a try if you are suffering.
