Summer Pop-up Shop
All summer I have my pop-up shop on trendy Lower Ossington at #106, when I am not traveling to other shows or festivals. Usually Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays between 2pm and 7pm but if the weather is exceptional I sometimes go out other days too. Best way to know is to follow me on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok where I announce my hours when I am out there. Or you can direct message me at 416-522-5051. The area has some of the best restaurants, cafes and clubs in the city for a great night out
July 4th & 5th, 10am to 6pm
West Niagara Fairgrounds
I love doing these faires because the patrons go all out on the costumes and it inspires me to create pieces outside the box.
Jim Heineman was my friend and mentor. He founded the music scene at the Rex Hotel when I met him back in 1986, and was a part of the Toronto music scene for at least five decades. I grew up on his beautiful music and since he passed in 2023 we do a tribute and play his gorgeous compositions for an evening of dancing and listening. We recorded his music in my studio, the same space we will perform in. The 1st CD we recorded was nominated for best jazz song in the world in 2012 by the International Independent Music Awards for the title track. We will be telling stories about his incredible career and contributions. Click the button to see a clip of Toronto jazz history with a movie made about Jim and our friend the great John T. Davis. Send an E-transfer to timatown@gmail.com to reserve your spot — $25 in advance, $35 at the door.
Saturday July 25th 11am to 11pm
Lower Ossington between Queen St. West and Dundas St. West. Come enjoy the wonderful restaurants, cafes, artists and music. My friend and music mentor Mark Hundevad will also be hosting a live music event for his 60th birthday in my backyard, in behind the festival area.
If you want to explore Ontario, I highly recommend the small quaint peninsula town of Erieau located right on Lake Erie. They get a nice selection of artists showing their work for a one day event set up right down the only boulevard. 9am to 4pm. I like to make it a working vacation and spend a few days in the area.
I like to host open mics for all levels and in all forms, be it storytelling, spoken word, voice, dance, comedy, instrumental. It is always a warm and supportive atmosphere. I want to encourage people to engage with their creative power. We were meant to be creators while society programs us to be endless consumers. I give you plenty of time to practice your art form. THIS IS A PAY WHAT YOU CAN EVENT. Reach out to me at luciadefatimaarts@gmail.com or text me at 416-522-5051 to sign up.
