Fatima In the Alley Music & Art Gallery is where I live , work, show my art and have live music events about once or twice a month. It is located in the Alley of Lower Ossington Ave , which is now known as the "Art & Design District" in Little Portugal, Toronto. The area is full of great restaurants and cafes. I have had live music events for the last 18 years, with some of Canada's best, including many Juno award winners. It's the space myself and friends recorded my late mentor's music, which was nominated for best jazz song in the world for the international Independent Music Awards, winning the people choice section. People often comment on the beautiful energy in the space, which I believe was instilled by a father's love for his daughter and all the wonderful music played all those years. My father turned four walls , a former Volvo garage, into a work and living space for me in 1999.
I also sell my art there, as well as show my personal art collection, as well as some of my jewellery. I have a workshop on the 2nd floor. I have a mocktail bar with delicious drinks made of non- alcoholic spirits, as well as specialty teas and coffees for my events. I also allow people to bring their own refreshments.

Every four months or so I have an open mic, where anyone at all levels is welcome to participate. It can be voice, instrumental, spoken word, story telling, dance, comedy etc. I let people know about the date well in advance so you have plenty of time to prepare. I believe we are meant to be creators to be our most authentic selves, as we have been programmed to be endless consumers. This is your chance to try something in front of an always warm, and welcoming audience. The events are always on a Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
